Flu vaccine
Flu vaccines are now in stock and available to all. It is particularly recommended for children under 5, people with chronic illnesses and everyone 65 and over.
Book in for one of our flu clinics, or ask your doctor at your next visit. We can check if you are eligible for a government funded vaccine, and also whether you are due for other vaccines for diseases such as pneumonia, shingles and COVID-19.
By the way, you can now have a COVID-19 booster 6 months after your last COVID-19 shot, even if you think you might have had an episode of COVID-19 infection in that time. If you know you had COVID-19 leaving the booster until 6 months after the infection gives you maximum immune protection.
What’s in a Name?
When Dr Petrina Barson and Dr Arete Kouteris bought Moreland West Medical Centre from Dr David Chong in 2014 it was called Moreland West Surgery. Now that the local government area of ‘Moreland’ is no more, Moreland West Medical Centre will be undergoing a name change in the near future. Stay tuned for the announcement in June of the new name for your medical home.
Best Foot Forward
We have a very experienced podiatrist at Moreland West Medical Centre. Peter Mulkearns has treated everyone from international athletes to people with chronic medical problems (such as diabetes) that affect their feet. Peter has worked extensively in AFL football, treating sports related foot problems.
